The Mavic XM719 disc rim offers a ton of strength, given its rim weight, (19mm inner at 470g). The rim has a welded seam, single stainless spoke hole eyelets, is made with Mavic's "Maxtal" alloy, and is finished to an incredibly exacting standard. Given the 719's rim strength, and just how precise it is finished, we're able to build and true wheels with consistent spoke tension down to 3 to 4 thousandths of an inch. If only every rim could be so good...
We’re building these wheels with Shimano XT 756 series 6-bolt disc, black QR hubs, (Shimano MTB cassette 8/9/10/11 speed compatible), laced three cross with DT Swiss Competition black double butted 2.0mm/1.8mm/2.0mm stainless spokes with silver alloy nipples.
These wheels will feel solid, in a good way, And light weight. Don't let the wheel set weight fool you; the rims, nipples, and spokes are all light weight. Shimano XT hubs do a lot of things well, (function, durability, maintenance, etc.), but they're just not the lightest hub set out there. Given this understanding, however, hopefully you'll appreciate how good of a deal this wheel set is. Thanks for looking.
