Pure XC SLR wheels are fast, light weight alternative to expensive alternatives. Let's face it, the Pure XC SLR rim itself is 372g, there's technically a few other non-carbon options that are this light, (we have most of them), but by comparison to the world at large, your options are pretty limited.
It’s true though, weight isn’t everything. That’s why the XC SLR still has a welded seam and an 18mm inner width, for easy tire fit compatibility and conversion to tubeless, in case you’re interested. As you march up the scales of rim quality and finish metrics, there’s fewer and fewer competitors, suffice it to say that these are ranked amongst a small group of elite XC rims.
We’re building Pure XC SLR wheels with the venerable Pure D400 hub set. These hubs boast rock solid engagement, (24 POE/15 degrees via a 3x2 freehub based pawl design), are extremely light weight, easy to convert to accommodate various front and rear axle standards, and are easy to service and maintain. At the end of the day, you want your hubs to work without a bunch of hassle; fortunately we understand where you’re coming from.
These wheels are built using Sapim Race double butted spokes, 2.0/1.8mm, with your choice of brass or alloy nipple, please select. Wheel set weights vary slightly, but these come in around 1520g without rim stickers. Considering the 32h front and rear spoke counts, a feature almost unheard of now-a-days with today’s “race” wheels, and you’ll start to realize just how extra ordinary, and how capable these wheels really are.
