Description
Have you been thinking about picking up a new Sun Rhyno Lite wheel set recently? I didn’t think so. It’s not the kind of rim that keeps you up at night, wondering, thinking. I leave that to more mundane topics like, ‘does the planet Earth harbor a subterranean species of shape shifting Reptilian Humanoids superior to us that are secretly plotting to overthrow our existence when all the natural resources have been mined? Or any other species with the same agenda for that matter? If we conform humanity to use as little natural resources as possible, does such a long term emphasis yield a future in which we become technologically inferior to any alternate vagabond species, and will we be overrun as a result? Else, do we continue to consume, and hopefully improve our technology, with the goal of evolving our integrated tech platforms to defend against an alien incursion? And if the latter, as a result is our species moving further and further away from a spiritual transcendence, as we become more and more rooted in a physical reality? Or is the future some sort of hybrid alternative such as depicted in Star Wars, (only IV, V, and VI of course), where people are living in huts with sand floors, in villages with minimal infrastructure, as they are wielding light sabers and shooting laser guns with unlimited energy/ammo? All of these considerations are predicated on the assumption that we get a handle on AI somehow.’
For a limited time, we are placing these wheels on super sale. Some people may already know this secret, but Sun rims rolls a bagillion rims in a country that rhymes with Lime-ah, including for major brands such as Stan’s, as well as their own label, and others. What people may not know is that, in the future these rims will become more and more expensive. We’re committed to using our inventory up, and then weighing the available options from that future point. So in the event that you have been lying awake at night contemplating these wheels, I’d say strike while the iron is hot!
If you are interested in the Sun Rhyno Lite, understand that this is a known rim. It has been known for decades. There are very few rims in which such a statement would be genuinely applicable. But why is that? What is it about the essence of the Sun Rhyno Lite that lends to its imperviousness against the passage of time?
For starters, how about its name? It’s fun to say, ‘Rhyno Lite’ has its own little jingle. The Rhyno Lite may look a little bland; it has a mostly box shaped profile with a bit of “7x” rim styling heritage mixed in. In terms of style, these are subjectively the epitome of pristine understated industrial elegance. And let’s not forget, there’s probably a million of them out there. Everyone’s ridden a set at one time or another, even if they didn’t know it. The rim is strong, wide enough for almost anything, and great for building solid, reliable wheels.
We’re building these wheels with Shimano Deore 525 series 6-bolt disc QR hubs, (Shimano MTB 8/9/10/11 speed compatible), laced three cross with DT Swiss black stainless steel spokes and brass nipples. There is a front hub option, in case you have a front 15x100mm Thru Axle fork. If your front fork/wheel uses a standard QR, simply select the “QR” option. The rear hub is only available as a QR (10mmx135mm). This wheel set has been designed to offer flexibility in brake options, (they are both V-brake and 6-bolt disc brake compatible), reliability in terms of ownership, and versatility in reference to tire fit and tube selection.
If you’re not riding a pair of Rhyno Lite wheels, we hope that you’re at least walking with a set in your hands.
