Clearance Speed Tuned 29er Bicycle Wheel Set

These Speed Tuned 29er wheels make for a really nice wheel set.  We were selling them in all black, but those sold out pretty quick.  What has Survived you Muse?  The same rims in various colors of course!  This is a strong double wall rim, that is actually rim brake compatible, but has a color anodized finish that will wear off if you run a rim brake against it along the sidewall.  So if that doesn’t bother you, then by all means, go for it.  Except for white.  That’s powder coated and definitely Not rim brake compatible no matter what.

These rims have a nice 19mm inner width as well as spoke holes with single stainless eyelets, which is a nice upgrade over the bulk of cheap OE rims.  Finished with quality spokes and Shimano quick release disc hubs, these wheels will hold up to a wide range of riders for the duration.

Please note that the valve hole is drilled for Schrader, but comes with a plastic presta insert, so it will work with either type of inner tube (valve).  Let your heart rejoice that you’ll be able to continue using your favorite inner tube with these bad boys.  Still not satisfied?  I didn’t think so!  To top it all off, these rims will come with a synthetic rim tape installed that may or may not be a tubeless rim tape, even though these are not tubeless ready rims.  Since all rims, (except for the Mavic UST XM819 and EN821, rest in peace), need rim tape, why not use a quality tubeless tape that you happen to have on hand to tape them up?

We are building these wheels with quick release Shimano 6-bolt disc hubs.  These are a great upgrade from basic OE “mtb no-name” hubs.  They offer reliability, strength, and are universally recognized at any local bike shop.  Shimano hubs are really interesting in that, if you take a little time to maintain them and check the bearing preset, they’ll last seemingly forever.  How is that even possible in this day and age of disposable consumer goods?

The front and rear wheels are built with 32 spokes, laced three cross with chrome plated brass nipples.  This is a great, solid, 29er (or 700c if you roll that way) wheel set, built with quality components through out, and is highly recommended for anyone who wants a decent set of non-race oriented wheels at a stellar price.
